Thrifting in Brooklyn New York.
A great way to get ready for Christmas.
It gets a whole lot better!
This was an amazing Consignment Store in Brooklyn.
Thrifting & Creativity: Remember the lamps I talked about a few months ago. These lamps were in our store for over a year at $10.00 each. They never sold. These lamps were a little time consuming because I had to use four coats of white paint to cover the beige. They were fun to paint and here they are redone. For $5.00 worth of paint I was able to transform them. This is how thrifting can be a gateway into nice things with a little creativity. I am still hunting for lamp shades.
Hmmmm – they look a little Kate Spade-ish? What do you think?

Holy Moments
In his wonderful book ‘holy moments: A Handbook for the Rest of Your Life’, Matthew Kelly talks about “tiny collaborations with God”. He writes:
“How many situations do you see each day in need of a Holy Moment?
One of the things I love about this idea is how universally practical it is. It can be applied to every situation in every aspect of our lives. In a workshop recently, I asked the group to put together a list of the ten aspects of life that mattered most. This is what they came up with: Health, Marriage and Family, Work, Spirituality, Home Life, Finances, Friendships, Recreation, Community, and Personal Growth.
Holy Moments can be applied to each of these aspects of our lives, and Holy Moments will improve all of these aspects of our lives.
Holy Moments make us better husbands and wives, parents and children, friends and neighbors, brothers and sisters, colleagues and citizens. Holy Moments make us better human beings.”
